Casting Cares

Sadly, people would rather believe a lie over the truth. Personally, I hate being lied on and falsely accused, but then again who doesn't? It hurts and it can be frustrating, especially when it comes from people close to you. However, as I continue to spend time with Christ, I am reminded that matters such as these fall into the category of the cares we are supposed to cast toward God.

We are not supposed to seek revenge. We don't have to get a 'lick' back in so to speak. We are not supposed to respond with petty tactics that can cause even more damage. In particular, we are not supposed to nurse our cares. We are to stay calm and watch God handle this care as He has handled other cares of ours countless times before. We know that if He did it before, He will do it again.

Trust in God is a key component to letting these type of issues go. The one thing I don't have to worry about is the truth being revealed. Anyone with an open heart who follows Christ knows that the truth always comes out. When or how it will happen is not our concern. We are to continue working on our assignment while God clears our path of these cares that attempt to distract us. Dirt will be thrown on our name, yes. However, we have to trust in the power of God. Yes, it's true that lies can cause destruction but remember you are protected by Grace. Don't repeat what has been said about you if it is negative or if it goes against what God said. Use the power in your tongue to speak against it in love. Speak what God speaks. You don't have to go on a campaign to justify anything that has already been endorsed by God.

So be careful that you don't try to handle these and other situations by yourself. Doing so is the quickest way to get 'handled' by the enemy. Your self-effort is the last thing that is needed. We need God. We need Grace. All day. Every day. This means we need to be spirit led when it comes to interacting with people because regardless of how a situation came about, we are on the clock 24 hours a day as representatives of Christ. According to the Word of God, we are responsible for responding to negative situations in a manner similar to the way Christ would.

We already have the answer to our current problems and any other problems we may face in the future. This is what we forget in the midst of our trouble. We forget the promise: we are joint heirs with Christ. We share in His spiritual blessing and inheritance. Hallelujah!

Romans 8:14-17 AMP
[14] For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. [15] For the Spirit which you have now received is not a spirit of slavery to put you once more in bondage to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption the Spirit producing sonship in the bliss of which we cry, Abba (Father)! Father! [16] The Spirit Himself thus testifies together with our own spirit, assuring us that we are children of God. [17] And if we are His children, then we are His heirs also: heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ sharing His inheritance with Him; only we must share His suffering if we are to share His glory.

The is what I love about God. as His children, we already have access to Him through Jesus. We have power on the inside of us suitable for every trial or situation. Nothing is bigger than the God on the inside of us.

2 Peter 1:2-7 AMP
[2] May grace (God's favor) and peace (which is perfect well-being, all necessary good, all spiritual prosperity, and freedom from fears and agitating passions and moral conflicts) be multiplied to you in the full, personal, precise, and correct knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. [3] For His divine power has bestowed upon us all things that are requisite and suited to life and godliness, through the full, personal knowledge of Him Who called us by and to His own glory and excellence (virtue). [4] By means of these He has bestowed on us His precious and exceedingly great promises, so that through them you may escape by flight from the moral decay (rottenness and corruption) that is in the world because of covetousness (lust and greed), and become sharers (partakers) of the divine nature. [5] For this very reason, adding your diligence to the divine promises, employ every effort in exercising your faith to develop virtue (excellence, resolution, Christian energy), and in exercising virtue develop knowledge (intelligence), [6] And in exercising knowledge develop self-control, and in exercising self-control develop steadfastness (patience, endurance), and in exercising steadfastness develop godliness (piety), [7] And in exercising godliness develop brotherly affection, and in exercising brotherly affection develop Christian love.

It's not easy. In fact, it's a training process. It takes practice to learn how to walk in love and truth like Christ:

James 1:3-6 AMP
[3] Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience. [4] But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be people perfectly and fully developed with no defects, lacking in nothing. [5] If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God Who gives to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him. [6] Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). For the one who wavers (hesitates, doubts) is like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and thither and tossed by the wind.

1 John 2:1-6 AMP
[1] MY LITTLE children, I write you these things so that you may not violate God's law and sin. But if anyone should sin, we have an Advocate (One Who will intercede for us) with the Father--it is Jesus Christ the all righteous upright, just, Who conforms to the Father's will in every purpose, thought, and action. [2] And He that same Jesus Himself is the propitiation (the atoning sacrifice) for our sins, and not for ours alone but also for the sins of the whole world. [3] And this is how we may discern daily, by experience that we are coming to know Him to perceive, recognize, understand, and become better acquainted with Him: if we keep (bear in mind, observe, practice) His teachings (precepts, commandments). [4] Whoever says, I know Him I perceive, recognize, understand, and am acquainted with Him but fails to keep and obey His commandments (teachings) is a liar, and the Truth of the Gospel is not in him. [5] But he who keeps (treasures) His Word who bears in mind His precepts, who observes His message in its entirety, truly in him has the love of and for God been perfected (completed, reached maturity). By this we may perceive (know, recognize, and be sure) that we are in Him: [6] Whoever says he abides in Him ought as a personal debt to walk and conduct himself in the same way in which He walked and conducted Himself.

However hard it may be, keep in mind that all things are possible to them that believe. If you take nothing else away from this post, I want you to know that God's Grace is sufficient.

Hold on:

Hebrews 6:10-12 AMP
[10] For God is not unrighteous to forget or overlook your labor and the love which you have shown for His name's sake in ministering to the needs of the saints (His own consecrated people), as you still do. [11] But we do strongly and earnestly desire for each of you to show the same diligence and sincerity all the way through in realizing and enjoying the full assurance and development of your hope until the end, [12] In order that you may not grow disinterested and become spiritual sluggards, but imitators, behaving as do those who through faith (by their leaning of the entire personality on God in Christ in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness) and by practice of patient endurance and waiting are now inheriting the promises.

God bless you all.
